101 Pharmacy & Travel Clinic
7. Will my family doctor do pre-travel consultation for me?
Some family doctors may see patients for travel health appointments, but they may not be able to allocate sufficient time to address all travel issues due to their busy schedules and may also charge for a travel consultation fee, as this service is not covered by Alberta Health Care. Our pharmacists have undergone training and education to obtain the certifications and experience in the related field. We ensure sufficient time and resources are available to provide the consultation and assessment needed. To ensure continuity of care, we will provide your doctor with relevant information regarding your appointment for their records.
8. Am I able to receive my vaccinations and have my prescriptions fill at 101 Pharmacy even if I did not receive travel consultation at your pharmacy?
You are welcome to book an appointment with us for just vaccinations and other prescription injections. Please note that there is a $20 injection fee per patient if you did not receive travel consultation through our pharmacy. You may also have your prescriptions transferred to us. But to ensure we have sufficient supply of your medications and the time you need to address any health-related questions and concerns, please call ahead to book an appointment. We are more than happy to have you as our customer.
9. Can I take my prescriptions to be filled at my regular pharmacy after my pre-travel consultation at 101 Pharmacy?
Please do not feel obligated to fill your travel prescriptions at our pharmacy. We offer one-stop service and competitive pricing for consultations, vaccinations, and prescriptions for your convenience. However, if you would like to fill the medications at your regular pharmacy, our prescribing pharmacist will provide you with a prescription for your travel medications.
10. What are the methods of payment?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Debit and Cash. Our staff will help you submit insurance claims online if you have any direct-billing drug insurance coverages. Please be sure to present your drug benefit cards and Alberta Healthcare Card when you come for your appointment.
